Traest Swiftblade

Rhyme & Punishment Application Form

::: Main Details :::

Character Name: Traest Swiftblade
Character Gender: Male
Character Race: Night Elf
Character Class: Rogue
Character Level: 90

Current Main & Secondary Spec: Assassination/Subtlety

Current Primary & Secondary Profession:Skinning/Leatherworking

Did you start your character on Moonglade, or transferred (if transferred, state from which realm)? Started on Moonlade
Current Guild you are part of, and any previous Guilds you have been in (if any): I'm currently a member of the Shadow Sentinels. I've only been in one other Guild, the Soul Reavers (long time disbanded)

If been in previous Guilds, what background were they? Also, a brief history of your previous guild membership experience if possible. (Hardcore raiding / Casual PVE / RP): My guild experience has been mostly RP and casual pve. The first guild I was in, Soul Reavers, was a small band of RP players. This was way back in vanilla. We would play through small scenarios we'd come up with, as well as playing through quests in character. EG, we'd do instance runs in character, which would take twice as long, but was great fun. Once BC hit, players started to drift off to join raiding guilds, leaving a small core of 4 players left (myself included). The Guild Leader decided to disband, and we all went our separate ways. After, I was guildless for a little while, before joining the Shadow Sentinels. I had some great times in the Shadow Sentinels, a solid foundation of players with a rich RP Guild history. However, I took a break from WoW about a year back, and when I came back, the Shadow Sentinels were all but gone. Many of the players had stopped playing, leaving only three semi-active players. I've been trying to rebuild the guild to its former glory, but the current guild leader seems disinterested. That being the case, it is, unfortunately, time to move on.

Is this your main or alt?: Main

Time been on Moonglade: about 7 years
Time been playing WoW: Since Vanilla

::: Player OOC Details :::

Real Age Bracket: 25-30, I'm 28
Country where you live: Wales
Your level of English: Good
What kind of player are you in terms of time spent online?: I'm online most days, if only to check my farm :smile-big:

::: RP Details :::

Character Full Name & Surname: Traest Swiftblade
Character Age: 127
Any special character traits: Being a Night Elf, Traest has a natural distrust of mages, and outright disdain for warlocks. He tends to speak little, but when he does, it is in a calm, thought out manner.
Any races / classes / factions your character hates or is “at war” with? (eg. Warlocks): Traest is generally accepting of most races believing that an individuals actions do not reflect those of the whole. However, he holds a loathing of the Naga and Satyr, who he sees as irredeemable.
Brief Character History: Traest was a message runner for the Night Elves before the return of the Burning Legion, leading an indistinct life. When the Legion arrived, Traest saw little of the fighting, being involved in refugee movement as the Legion moved on Nordrassil. After the events, Traest was approached by SI:7. While not signing up immediately, he did take on freelance work, specialising in information retrieval and scouting.

How knowledgeable of the Warcraft lore are you?: I would rate myself as so-so. I have a broad working knowledge of the lore, but I'm not well versed in the details.

Your favourite WoW area, and why? Ha, so many o choose from! In vanilla, my favourite are was Ashenvale. We used to hold Guild meetings there, and there were many good times had there, especially with attempted horde raids on Astranaar. When the various expansions hit, the Astranaar/Crossroads raids faded, so Ashenvale was quiet. Currently, my favourite area is the whole of Pandaria. As an expansion, I've really enjoyed the overarching storyline. It's felt that I've actually been questing for a reason other than xp/gear/gold, which I think has been lacking in WoW for a while.

Your fondest RP moment that you remember: I once spent the best part of a day running around Azeroth with a friend on the search for the Scythe of Elune. He'd planned it all, and it took us to almost every area, dipping into instances, and occasionally behind enemy lines.

Why did you choose Rhyme & Punishment? I chose Rhyme and Punishment as I am looking for an active RP guild, with a chance of running Heroics/Raids. Recently, I have been playing WoW in a dead guild, with pugs for any instance runs. The social side of the game has been lacking for some time, and it doesn't look like it'll end any time soon if I stay where I am.

Why do you think that we should invite you as a Guild Member? I am an active player, topping the guild lifetime activity scores. I am more than happy to help other players with quests/crafting, and I'm a keen RP gamer. I'm not after gold, guild perks, or hardcore elitism. Games are played for fun, and hopefully I'll help add to the fun factor for Rhyme and Punishment.

Will you be willing to attend guild meetings?: Yes
Will you be willing to attend guild RP events?: Yes

Any thoughts or questions you want to ask the guild?: do u hav tabbarrd?
(just kidding, please don't hold it against me :smile-big:)

Wasn't Soul Reavers lead by Briar?

It was, not long before the end. Before leaving the game, the old Guild leader put Briar in charge. If I remember correctly, Briar and I were the last members of Soul Reavers. Although that was with my old main, a druid named Leitholfer.

And I was too :)

Soul Reavers was my first guild in Vanilla, and I spent a good couple of months in there.

I remember leaving when the guild was pretty much dead, I was level 30'ish and then joined Rhyme.

You were? Excellent, bringing back the memories! Though I can't remember the old leaders name. I think it was Estelan? A human rogue, if I remember correctly. So many years ago!
