It's happy hour, the alcohol is flowing. It's time to pull up a tankard of ale, bottle of wine for the ladies and regail tales of heroism and grandeur.

Tales of Azeroth [Cherwina's Stories]

Ok, it's a temporary location for it but I'm currently putting up my stories at:

In Stitches (Zaggi's Story)
Dreamer (Cherwina's Story)
Island of Blue (Isilae's Story)

This way you can happily comment while I'm still writing more of the stories without interrupting the flow. :)

Hope you like the design, and if you would like me to add your own stories to that (it'll be hosted elsewhere eventually) just ask, it only takes me a couple if minutes. :top:

UPDATE: Site is now offline :/

Posted stories to threads in here.

You should prod Rand - there's a the potential to get it hosted on the guild site...

I'll have a wee look at it tonight!

In Stitches

“Hey, Wait!”

There was a loud crash as a gnome ran headlong out of the inn straight into a parked Mechanostrider. He staggered back to his feet and checked his armour for scratches. He was dressed in full plate; his blue eyes barely visible through the holes in his helmet. It had been polished to perfection, well, almost. Somehow he’d completely missed the back of the breastplate which looked very muddy, as though he had spent more time lying on his back playing dead, or drunk, than fighting.

“Where’d she go?” he muttered to himself.

Taking off his helmet he looked around. The busy streets of Old Town Stormwind were no place to try and play ‘Spot the Gnome’. His face looked youthful, if slightly odd. Perhaps because of his perfect handlebar moustache, possibly just because it was pink. A high pitched giggle rose from behind the mailbox and a black haired gnome, standing slightly taller than the male stepped out attired in a black robe and a purple mage hat. She was younger than her companion and was currently grinning like a cat.

“You have one minute, and we walk and talk.”

She turned and, at a quick walk, headed towards the Trade District. The warrior, confused by the reply, stood still for a moment scratching his balding head.

“Are you going to follow me Scrappi, or have you forgotten what it was you needed to say?”

“Oh, sorry Zaggi. I’m not with it today.”

“You never are.”

Zaggi started giggling again as she heard the noise of clashing metal running up behind her.

~~~
“Why are you in such a hurry?” asked Scrappi.
“I’ve got a week to get all the way to the Hinterlands, even by gryphon that’s pushing it.”
“What could possibly be interesting in the Hinterlands? We’ve got demons, dragons and even mad trolls just south of here.”
“That’s just typical of you. As long there’s someone or something to park your axe in you’re happy.”
“Well, I am pretty good at it. You remember the time when…”
“I’m going to the Academy, Scrappi” she interrupted, waving a hand in front of his face to wake him from his nostalgia. Scrappi just looked back at her with a confused look on his face. She stopped and faced him. “I got kicked out of the mage district remember? No thanks to you.”
“Oh, you mean the whole ‘burning building’ incident.”
“Yes, I told you not to show off. I’d only just learned the enchantment and wasn’t too sure about the mix. I put too much Essence of Fire into the recipe and your waving it around made the curtains catch fire.”
“Admit it though, I looked sooo hot!” Scrappi winked at Zaggi, she just sighed and continued walking. “What?”
“Your humour has never quite been to my taste. I prefer laughing at you when you aren’t making jokes.”
They walked over the bridge between the Old Town and Trade District, the bells of the cathedral ringing out the time.
“Quarter to, I should make it.” Mused Zaggi.
They turned right and then left through the gate to the Trade District, the noise of the market already echoing through the streets. A young man with a bread basket under his arm inquired as to whether the two gnomes would like some bread before heading back on his way.
“So, this Academy, what’s it for?”
“Learning. They teach so many different things and I've heard they have a mage who specialises in fire magic. I’m hoping if I learn to control my fire magic, they’ll let me back in the Mage disctrict.”
They could now see the ramp to the gryphon housing up ahead, both stopped and looked at each other.
“Well, if anything goes wrong, you’ve always got me t’ come save ya.”
“Thanks Scrappi. I’ll make sure I keep in touch. Oh, and tell that druid that I’m a little too busy to keep making her more outfits.”
“Will do!”
They waved at each other as Zaggi made her way up the ramp and out of sight.
Scrappi sighed “Maybe one of these days she will find someone to settle down with. Mind you, the end of the world is more likely than that.”
~~~

She was late. If it wasn’t for the message, the faculty would have given up on her showing at all. Apparently the weather in Dun Morough had been so bad that the Dwarves stopped all non essential flights, even then you’d have to be mad to dare fly in the conditions. If the latest estimates were correct, the new pupil would be arriving this evening.

In the dim light of the library a lone figure could be seen sitting at a desk, reading through paperwork, delicate fingers tracing the lines across the page. They settled at the end of a sentence as the figure looked up towards the door.

“Do not think for one second I did not hear you enter” she said with a smile

“Observant as ever milady” came the reply as a man stepped from the shadows and opened the large curtains on the far wall. “I appreciate that your kind enjoys the twilight, but it would be easier on the eyes for all of us if you let a bit of light in occassionally”

The man was attired in a dark purple robe, a few small amethysts placed in such a way as to give the impression of a grinning face adorned the back of the robe. His scruffy, short black hair and goatee gave him the appearance of a mad scientist though his voice and mannerisms suggested someone far more serious.
