Greetings friends,

recently I've installed windows 10 pro on my home machine.
apart for some privacy issues Windows 10 does perform well.

A while ago I've encountered an error when running GTA V under windows 10.

It appears that some windows 10 that come without the media player installed lack certain files to work properly.

Now you could research how to fix that or just follow this super easy guide to fix it:

in order to fix your issue go to here
and download both x86 and x64 versions and install these updates, once installed the media features lacking for certain games shall be installed on windows and your issue shall resolve

restart your pc

Voila, your GTA V should now be working.

Enjoy!

Weird. When I installed my GTA V, it did complain that I did not have WMP installed, and setup refused to go on until I did.

Maybe it happens when you install GTA under Win7/8, then upgrade to Win10-N. Although I'm not sure if moving from non-N to N is even an allowed upgrade path...

Ah the N version is the one the EU pushed, that doesn't have Media Player right?

Yes.

This update fixes it without the need to install the player.
