case of magicifica

It was a few years before Bandarius trained as a mage.
He was born and raised by his parents until Gnomeregan fell.
This story happens some time before that.
Bandarius was young, intelligent but very lazy when it came to doing something with his life.

It was a lazy afternoon in which he sat in his father's lab just lazying on the chair while some machine or another beeped alerting that something was probably wrong with it, though Bandarius took it off his mind, he had more important things to consider.

He was invited to the studies of engineering in the gnomeregan university.
Bandarius's father was well known in the field and owned his own laboratory and was making inventions regularly.

It was already established within his family that Bandarius will follow his father footsteps, while Bandarius did not disagree openly he had other dreams.

For a gnome at that time to dream such a thing was shameful, sure, people needed it, but wanting to be it was as though wanting to be a robot, it was well established tailoring had no place in an revolutionized society such as gnomeregan.

Bandarius decided at that moment what he should do, a plan has been devised by himself and a friend of his. He shall run away.
Where, when...- his thoughts were interrupted when an urgent beeping awoke him from his deep thoughts, a sweeper robot was behaving erratically by flying around, although some robots were designed to fly about buzzing this was not the case of this design of sweeper robots, the constant beeping also bode badly for the robot in question.

Bandarius attempted at shutting the defective robot down but was unable to do so due to the height of which the robot was flying about.
Yelling at the robot to shut down also bore no fruits, if he was an engineer he would have already evacuated the room since the explosion was eminent and unavoidable, though bandarius not having studied engineering opted for a more vulgar aproach to the problem, and started throwing random objects at the robot attempting to break it down.

Bandarius threw the last of the wrenches when the robot declared in a dying voice "system malfunction, Core overheated". Bandarius closed his eyes putting his hands on top of himself to protect himself from the blast that was sure to come.

Time ticked by and the hallways stayed silent, the regular beeping of other machines kept doing their intended function, Bandarius huddled into himself looked around wondering whatever happened to the explosion which was to follow looking very surprised when instead of seeing a flying about robot was a huge pile of ice within was the robot, cooling down battery slowly draining.

Interestingly enough when Bandarius came back to the laboratory an hour later there was no sign of water nor of the robot, thus Bandarius assumed he had dreamed it up and kept up trying to start his well thought of plan.
