SpamMeNot is an AddOn that can filter out text on many levels, filter out Trade Channel spam, auto-ignore and auto-report, and much more. I use it myself to avoid goldselling spam.


If you're going to use it, I recommend setting it to this configuration to avoid blocking out everything;

So what does this do? Well, with this AddOn set on these configurations, you've basically shut the goldsellers out. All characters up to the level you set just ceased to be, at least you won't receive any messages from then, no whispers, no says, no yells, nothing. Also, the people who you have blocked out will not be made aware of this, they won't clog up your ignore list or anything of the likes.

It's more when you're trying to RP and then suddenly you get hit by a big wave of text in your chatbox making it harder to discern who said what when there are lots of people talking nearby (i.e. lots of speech bubbles).

Heh, well if you have them off then you feel the sting of having a wall of text hit your chatbox even more keenly.

The spammers do annoy me, but I take a degree of pleasure in reporting them.

I tried holding an interview in the Pig couple of days ago. Between the actual RP that was going on (yes RP!), general and trade chat lollers, the interview itself, and the gold spam, i was going totally insane at the amount of text per second scrolling up. I went to bed with a headache. This addon is godsent!

And Lin .. it autoreports them!!! What else could you wish for??
