By posting it on the events thread people know about it, you should remind people a day before and the same day's morning so people can be reminded.

I meant as in, that people check it here, I tried notifying just on the calendar in game, most don't check that as much as you'd want them to.

Notifying here and on the chat on the forum will remind people to come (a day or so before and the day itself)
