Hey friends,
Bitdefender has recently released a vaccine program for certain ransomeware families. the idea is that if a ransomware of these families hit your computer is that the program will emulate a response to the checks as though your computer is already infected so no need to encrypt the files.

In settings you can set it to minimize to tray so as not to bother you by showing itself.
For now it protects you from the following:
CTB-Locker
Locky
TeslaCrypt
Pretty sure they will expand their anti ransomware tool to include more families of ransomware.
Enjoy!

Regarding the subject of ransomware:
Europol, netherlands police, Kaspersky and Intel have joined together in an effort to try and help people avoid ransomware and in case you get hit by one, maybe have a decryptor on their website.
According to what I understand, they plan on releasing more decryptors as time passes and they are able to reverse engineer the encryptors.
