Forum works fine, Private messages are acting up on me, i can browse the forum fine, but when i try to send shevron a private message it keeps timing out

alright, found out the issue myself, apparently there are certain characters the forum doesn't approve of...

There -might- be a slight issue with the tag for italic text. It stopped working if there were several paragraphs within the tag, even if the end tag was at the end of the post.

So a post would look like this:

Paragraph2

Paragraph3

Or quote, because some can't see the edit button.
Just because I wanted to see what was going on with that post but yeah, that's kind of silly.

Fixed.

phpBB made italic and bold bbcodes, for some reason, create styled <span> tags instead of much more reasonable <em> and <strong>.

However, that just raises a nagging question for me: why would you even want to do that in the first place? Italic and bold are used to emphasize certain parts of an otherwise-normal text. Making the entire story italic emphasizes nothing and merely makes the text harder to read.

You will, no doubt, respond along the lines of "it's an excerpt from Lilandris' journal". To which I offer the counterpoint: emphasizing journal text would be reasonable if there were also non-journal parts to the story:

In litterature, thoughts and inner monologue is usually written in italic. At least in the things I have read.

Causes confusion if the character is also reading something likea letter though, as those are often in italic too.

But if the thoughts and inner monologue are in fact 100% of the text, what's the point? Besides, you don't go to a bookstore, pick up a set of memoirs, and expect the entire book to be italicized just because it consists of the author's thoughts.

Anyway. This is off-topic for the thread. The italic tags have been fixed.

I'm not sure I understand what you mean, Tormeron. A thread is marked as unread whenever someone adds a new post or edits an old one. The moment you have opened it and read the new or edited post, the thread will by definition no longer be "unread".
